Ingredients
Scale
1 large apple (such as Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter, melted
4 large flour tortillas
½ cup cream cheese, softened
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for thickening)
¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
½ cup powdered sugar (for drizzling)
1 tablespoon milk or cream (for thinning)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the apple slices with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir well and set aside for about 10 minutes.
In another bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and all-purpose flour until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges. Place spoonfuls of the marinated apple slices in the center; add nuts if desired.
Carefully roll the tortilla tightly from one end to the other, securing the filling inside. Repeat with the remaining tortillas.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Place rolled tortillas seam side down in the skillet and cook each side for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk or cream until drizzle-able. Adjust thickness as needed.
Remove the roll-ups from the skillet, slice into bite-sized pieces, drizzle with glaze, and serve warm.
Notes
Great served with ice cream for an extra treat.
Feel free to substitute different nuts or omit them if desired.
Can be made ahead of time and reheated for serving.
