A delightful Apple Pie Coffee Cake that’s perfect for any occasion, combining the flavors of apple pie with a moist coffee cake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15–16 oz) yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 can (20–21 oz) apple pie filling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • Optional: ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, melted butter, and cinnamon until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  3. Reserve about one-third of the crumb mixture for the topping and press the remaining two-thirds into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spoon the apple pie filling evenly over the pressed base.
  5. Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture loosely over the apple layer.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown, edges are bubbling, and center is set. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before glazing.

Notes

  • For smaller apple pieces, chop the filling before spreading.
  • If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil during baking.
