Banana Delight – Creamy, Dreamy & Perfectly Sweet

A creamy and delicious dessert made with layers of vanilla wafers, ripe bananas, cream cheese, and whipped topping.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons salted sweet cream butter, softened
  • 11 ounces vanilla wafers (reserve 4 to 6 wafers for topping)
  • 4 large ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 16 ounces whipped topping, thawed
  • 6.8 ounces instant banana cream pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold whole milk

Instructions

  1. Butter a 9×9-inch baking dish with 2 tablespoons of softened butter.
  2. Line the bottom and sides of the buttered baking dish with a single layer of vanilla wafers.
  3. Lay a single layer of sliced bananas on top of the vanilla wafers.
  4. Beat the cream cheese and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Add powdered sugar and 1 cup of whipped topping, then beat until smooth.
  6. Spread the cream cheese layer over the bananas and vanilla wafers.
  7. Lay another layer of vanilla wafers on top, then add the remaining sliced bananas.
  8. Mix cold milk and 1 cup of whipped topping with pudding mix until thickened.
  9. Spread the pudding layer on top.
  10. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  11. Spread the remaining whipped topping and sprinkle crushed wafers before serving. Slice into 9 slices.

Notes

  • Ensure bananas are ripe for optimal sweetness.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  • Optional to top with chocolate shavings for added flavor.
