A delicious Barbecue Bacon Pizza featuring a crispy crust topped with smoky barbecue sauce, cheeses, chopped bacon, and optional jalapeños.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup smoky barbecue sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. For the dough: In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
  4. Roll out dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a pizza pan or preheated stone.
  5. Spread barbecue sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  6. Top with bacon, red onion, and jalapeños (if using).
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and garnish with fresh cilantro and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper if desired. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • Ensure the water temperature is correct to activate the yeast.
  • Feel free to customize toppings according to your preference.
