Ingredients

  • Black Pepper: 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic Powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Onion Powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika: 1 tablespoon
  • Brown Sugar: 2 tablespoons
  • Liquid Smoke: 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Beef Broth: 2 cups
  • BBQ Sauce: for serving

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the brisket.
  2. Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and brown sugar. Rub over the brisket.
  3. For Oven: Preheat to 300°F (150°C). Roast brisket in a pan with broth, covered, for 4-5 hours.
  4. For Slow Cooker: Place brisket in the slow cooker with broth and liquid smoke. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  5. For Smoker: Smoke at 225°F (107°C) for about 1 hour per pound until it reaches 195°F (90°C).
  6. Let the brisket rest for 30 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve with BBQ sauce.
