A simple and delicious recipe for berry cheese puff treats that are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, defrosted
  • 113 g cream cheese, room temperature
  • 60 g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 150 g fresh blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • Powdered sugar, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Turn your oven to 200°C and line your baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, combine the blueberries with cornstarch and lemon juice.
  4. Dust a counter with flour and roll the puff pastry out to approximately 30×40 cm. Cut it into 8 pieces, each around 10×15 cm.
  5. Add a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture to the center of each pastry piece, followed by some blueberry mixture on top.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to form packets, pressing them down to seal.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk then brush this mixture over the pastries.
  8. Place the pastries on the prepared tray and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed up.
  9. Transfer the pastries to a wire rack to cool slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • You can substitute the blueberries with other berries if preferred.
  • These pastries are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a day or two.
