Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup pecans (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the melted unsalted butter and light brown sugar. Stir until combined.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add half the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stir until incorporated, then add the remaining flour mixture and stir until smooth.
  6. Fold in the finely chopped pecans and the butterscotch chips.
  7. Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Check for doneness at 25 minutes.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely before removing from the pan and cutting into servings.

Notes

  • For easier removal, leave parchment paper overhanging the sides of the pan.
  • Check doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
