- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup pecans (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the melted unsalted butter and light brown sugar. Stir until combined.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add half the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stir until incorporated, then add the remaining flour mixture and stir until smooth.
- Fold in the finely chopped pecans and the butterscotch chips.
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Check for doneness at 25 minutes.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before removing from the pan and cutting into servings.
Notes
- For easier removal, leave parchment paper overhanging the sides of the pan.
- Check doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
