A festive and creative way to serve charcuterie items using skewers shaped like Christmas trees.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 slices salami
  • 8 cornichons
  • 80 g cheddar cheese, cut into star shapes
  • 8 wooden skewers, 10 cm length

Instructions

  1. Using a small star-shaped cutter, cut cheddar cheese into uniform stars, approximately 1 cm thick.
  2. Fold each salami slice in half and then again to form a triangular shape. For the base layer, skewer through the back of the fold for a wider appearance. Progressively shift the skewer position towards the front fold as you stack higher, creating a tapered tree shape.
  3. Thread a cornichon above the final salami slice to represent the tree’s top.
  4. Top each skewer with a cheddar cheese star to complete the decorative look.
  5. Repeat assembly to create all skewers and arrange attractively on a platter.

Notes

  • Ensure the cheese is at room temperature for easier cutting.
  • Consider using different shapes of cheese for variety.
  • Garnish the platter with fresh herbs for added color.
