A quick and tasty treat filled with cheese and pepperoni, perfect for snacks or meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add the milk, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Use a round cutter or glass to cut out circles in the dough.
  7. Spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce onto each circle, leaving a border around the edge.
  8. Top with a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese and a few slices of pepperoni.
  9. Fold the dough in half over the filling, pressing the edges to seal.
  10. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch and to ensure the seal.
  11. Place the pockets onto the prepared baking sheet.
  12. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with dried oregano for flavor.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  14. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your cheesy pizza pockets!

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the pepperoni.
  • These pizza pockets can be frozen before baking, just bake them longer when cooking from frozen.
