Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups marinara sauce
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink.
Stir in the marinara sauce and heavy cream, mixing well to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the chicken and sauce mixture. Stir in half of the Parmesan cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese.
Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with the remaining Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
