A delightful cake featuring layers of rich chocolate, sweet caramel, and crunchy toffee that is perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • Whipped cream (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  4. Stir in boiling water until blended; it will be thin.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and toffee bits evenly through the batter.
  6. Divide batter between prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow cakes to cool for 10 minutes before removing them from pans and then cooling completely on wire racks.
  9. Spread caramel sauce between the cooled layers and on top; sprinkle with more toffee bits and chocolate chips.
  10. Serve optionally with whipped cream.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature before mixing. Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.
