Delicious cranberry orange cinnamon rolls with a creamy icing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 2½ tsp yeast
  • 200 ml warm milk
  • 50 g sugar
  • 50 g melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • Filling: 50 g cranberries
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • Icing: 100 g cream cheese
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • Juice of ½ orange

Instructions

  1. Whisk yeast into warm milk. Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and all-purpose flour. Knead the mixture into a smooth dough and allow it to rise for 1 hour.
  2. Roll the dough into a rectangular shape, then evenly spread the filling mixture of cranberries, orange zest, sugar, and cinnamon. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape.
  3. Cut the rolled log into 8 equal pieces and place them into a greased baking pan.
  4. Let the rolls rise for 30 minutes, then bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth. Drizzle over warm or cooled rolls before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter roll, you can add more sugar to the filling.
  • Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
  • These rolls are best served warm.
