  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, but reserve a small cup of the pasta water for later use.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Avoid browning the garlic.
  3. Add the Tomatoes: Stir in the diced tomatoes, cooking for about 5 minutes until they soften.
  4. Incorporate the Cream: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Basil Time: Stir in the chopped basil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Combine with Pasta: Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, mixing well to coat it in the sauce. Use reserved pasta water to adjust consistency.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
