Ingredients
Scale
1 pound chicken breast, sliced
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
8 ounces penne or rigatoni
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
2 garlic cloves, minced
Instructions
Season sliced chicken breast with Cajun seasoning. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until browned and fully cooked, about 5 minutes. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
Add minced garlic to the same pan. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth, heavy cream, and honey; stir well and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Add uncooked pasta to the pan and return cooked chicken to the mixture. Stir to combine. Cook uncovered, stirring often, for about 12-15 minutes or until pasta is al dente and sauce thickens. Ensure all ingredients are evenly coated before serving.
Notes
Adjust the level of Cajun seasoning to taste for a spicier dish.
For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with a lower fat alternative.
This dish can pair well with a side salad or garlic bread.
