A delicious and easy comfort food recipe that combines layers of ravioli, meat sauce, and cheese, all cooked in a crockpot for a warm and hearty meal.

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound ground beef (or Italian sausage)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 (25-ounce) package frozen cheese ravioli
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a greased crockpot, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.
  5. Layer half of the frozen ravioli over the sauce.
  6. Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the ravioli, then sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat layers with the remaining meat sauce, ravioli, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top and cover.
  9. Cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the ravioli is tender and the cheese is melted.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with a plant-based meat alternative.
  • Feel free to add more vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for added flavor and nutrition.
