Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring that the chicken is well coated.
Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir to combine with the sauce.
Serve the chicken over rice or noodles, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Adjust the level of sweetness by altering the amount of honey.
Make sure to shred the chicken well for better sauce absorption.
This dish pairs well with rice, noodles, or a fresh salad.
