Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
1/4 cup green olives, sliced
1/4 cup raisins
1 tablespoon capers
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups cooked white rice
Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing for about 5 minutes until softened.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, green olives, raisins, capers, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Serve the picadillo over a bed of fluffy white rice and garnish with fresh cilantro.
