A delightful custard bread pudding drizzled with velvety vanilla sauce, perfect for creating warm memories during family gatherings.

  • 6 cups of day-old bread (cubed)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • For the vanilla sauce:
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the cubed bread to the egg mixture and gently stir until all pieces are coated.
  4. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the custard.
  5. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Prepare the vanilla sauce by melting the unsalted butter and whisking in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  8. Serve the warm bread pudding drizzled with vanilla sauce.

Notes

Use day-old bread for best absorption. You can assemble the pudding the night before and refrigerate it. Customize by adding fruits or chocolate chips.
