A comforting goulash combining ground beef, pasta, and a rich tomato-based sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Heat a splash of oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic, stirring occasionally until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Add the elbow macaroni, ensuring it is submerged. Cook, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheese if desired.

Notes

You can store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
