A quick and healthy dish made with fresh spinach and garlic, perfect as a side or a light meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh spinach, washed and trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add the fresh spinach to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic and oil.
  4. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the spinach is wilted and tender.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the spinach for added brightness.
  6. For a little heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes on top before serving.

Notes

  • This dish can be served warm or at room temperature.
