  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • Edible gold dust

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine water and butter in a saucepan; bring to a quick boil.
  3. Add flour and salt to the mixture, stirring until a cohesive ball forms.
  4. Remove from heat and allow the dough to cool for a few minutes.
  5. Incorporate eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  6. Pipe small mounds of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and puffed.
  8. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  9. Fill the profiteroles with the cream mixture using a piping bag.
  10. Heat additional heavy cream and pour over semi-sweet chocolate chips; stir until smooth for ganache.
  11. Dip filled profiteroles in ganache, finishing with a sprinkle of edible gold dust.
  12. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Ensure eggs are at room temperature for better incorporation. Leave the oven door slightly ajar for a crispier shell.
