Grilled Steak Tacos with Avocado Salsa is a delicious and satisfying dish featuring marinated grilled steak topped with fresh avocado salsa, perfect for taco lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • lbs flank or skirt steak
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 ripe avocados, diced
  • ½ small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • ½ cup crumbled queso fresco or cotija cheese
  • Lime wedges and extra cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine all steak marinade ingredients in a bowl or zip-top bag. Add steak and marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).
  2. While steak marinates, make the avocado salsa: combine all salsa ingredients in a bowl and gently mix. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill steak for 4–5 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
  4. Warm tortillas on the grill or in a skillet until slightly charred and pliable.
  5. Assemble tacos by layering grilled steak, avocado salsa, crumbled cheese, and fresh cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For best flavor, marinate the steak for the full 4 hours.
  • Adjust the spiciness of the salsa by adding more or less jalapeño.
  • Use fresh ingredients for optimal taste.
