Grinch Balls are a festive treat made from Red Velvet Oreos and cream cheese, coated in light green candy melts and decorated with red candy hearts.

Ingredients

  • 24.4 ounces Red Velvet Oreos (2 packages of 12.2 ounces each)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 15 ounces light green candy melts
  • Red candy hearts

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment.
  2. In a food processor, add the Oreo cookies and pulse a few times into fine crumbs.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and blend with an electric hand mixer on high speed until smooth.
  4. Add the Oreo crumbs and mix the two together well.
  5. Using a 1.5″ cookie scoop, scoop the mixture and roll into smooth balls with your hands and place onto the prepared baking tray.
  6. Place the tray in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to chill before dipping.
  7. In a double boiler, add the candy melts and heat over low heat, stirring often, until melted and smooth.
  8. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each ball into the melted candy and place it onto the baking sheet.
  9. If desired, drizzle any leftover melted candy on top of the balls and immediately top with a red candy heart before the drizzle sets.
  10. Place them back in the refrigerator to set completely.

Notes

  • Be careful not to overheat the candy melts.
  • Consider setting aside some candy melts for an extra drizzle on top.
  • Make sure to refrigerate the balls before dipping for better shape retention.
