Ingredients
Scale
1 package (12-count) Hawaiian rolls
3 large eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2–3 tablespoons butter (for frying)
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Maple syrup (optional, for serving)
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until smooth.
Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, creating two even layers.
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a pat of butter to coat the surface. Dip each roll half into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated but not soggy.
Place the dipped rolls onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crisp on the edges.
Arrange the French toast on a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup, if desired. Enjoy warm!
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the egg mixture.
Make sure not to oversoak the rolls to prevent them from becoming too soggy.
