Delicious homemade chocolate graham crackers that are easy to make and perfect for snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 7 tablespoons Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar plus 1 tablespoon
  • 6 tablespoons Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy—about 2 minutes.
  4. Add milk and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until well blended.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing on low speed until a thick dough forms.
  6. Divide dough in half. Roll each portion between two sheets of parchment paper to about ⅛-inch thick.
  7. Cut rolled dough into rectangles (about 2 x 3 inches) using a sharp knife or fluted cutter.
  8. Use a fork to poke holes across the surface of each cracker.
  9. Carefully transfer rectangles to prepared baking sheets, spacing slightly apart.
  10. Bake 10–12 minutes, or until edges are set.
  11. Let cool completely on baking sheets. Crackers will crisp up more as they cool.

Notes

  • Store crackers in an airtight container for optimal freshness.
  • For a sweeter treat, dip in melted chocolate.
