Ingredients
Scale
3 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp Kosher Salt
1 1/4 cups Lukewarm Water
2 tbsp Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
2 1/4 tsp Dry Active Yeast
1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
1 tsp Dried Oregano
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
50 slices Pepperoni
1/4 cup Cornmeal or Semolina Flour
Sliced Basil (for serving)
Instructions
Make the dough: In your mixing bowl, combine warm water, granulated sugar, and yeast. Let it rest for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Combine ingredients: Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl with the yeast mixture. Stir until the dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes.
Place your kneaded dough in a greased bowl, covering it with a damp cloth. Allow it to rise in a warm area for an hour or until doubled in size.
While the dough rises, mix the marinara sauce, oregano, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese in a bowl.
Once your dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
Spread the sauce mixture evenly across the dough, leaving a border along the edges. Layer the mozzarella and pepperoni over the sauce.
Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a log shape, pinching the seams to seal in the fillings. Slice into approximately 2-inch pieces.
Place the rolls cut-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Sprinkle cornmeal on the baking sheet for extra texture, then bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with sliced basil if desired.
Notes
Customize your pizza rolls with different ingredients like veggies, or try using air fryers for quicker cooking.
