- 1 (3 oz) package lime Jell-O
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- Optional: crushed graham crackers or vanilla wafers
- Optional: lime slices or mint for garnish
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve lime Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup ice cubes. Stir until the gelatin starts to thicken slightly, then remove any remaining ice.
- Set aside 1/2 cup of the gelatin and let cool to room temperature.
- Fold whipped topping into the remaining gelatin until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon the creamy gelatin mixture into serving glasses, filling each about halfway. Chill in the refrigerator for 30–45 minutes until partially set.
- Pour the reserved clear gelatin over the creamy layer in each glass. Chill for another 2–3 hours or until fully set.
- Before serving, top with additional whipped topping, crushed cookies, and a slice of lime or mint if desired.
Notes
- Use clear cups or glasses to show off the layered effect.
- You can swap lime Jell-O for any flavor for different variations.
- For added texture, layer with fruit chunks or cookie crumbs between gelatin layers.
