Loaded Beef & Potato Bake is a hearty and comforting dish combining ground beef, layered potatoes, cheese, and a creamy sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Warm olive oil in a sizable skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Introduce the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes. Season with paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper, and drain any extra fat if needed.
  4. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, place half of the sliced potatoes in an even layer at the bottom. Distribute half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes, then half of the sour cream. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and sour cream, finishing with the rest of the cheese on top.
  6. Evenly pour the beef broth over the entire dish.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Take off the foil and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure potatoes are sliced evenly for uniform cooking.
  • Feel free to adjust seasoning according to your taste preferences.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
