Ingredients
Scale
1 loaf French bread
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons butter
3.5 ounces white cooking wine
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
10.75 ounces condensed cheddar cheese soup
Dash of pepper
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with butter. Season with white wine, minced garlic, onion powder, and a dash of pepper until the meat is no longer pink. Drain the excess liquid and return the mixture to the pan.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce, condensed cheddar cheese soup, and shredded cheddar cheese. Heat over low heat, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted. Cover the skillet and remove it from the heat.
Slice the French bread into four equal sections. Slice each section in half vertically.
Fill each French bread sandwich with one quarter of the meat mixture.
Spray the exterior of each sandwich with non-stick cooking spray. Wrap each sandwich half tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a cookie sheet. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until hot.
Notes
You can adjust the seasonings according to your taste.
For a spicier variant, add chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the meat mixture.
