Ingredients
Scale
6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
3 cups granulated sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon gel food coloring (neon blue, pink, purple, green)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon edible glitter or luster dust
6 wooden candy apple sticks
Cooking spray or butter for parchment paper
Instructions
Prepare The Apples: Wash and dry the apples thoroughly, removing any wax coating. Insert wooden sticks into the top of each apple.
Prepare The Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
Make The Candy Coating: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Without stirring, let the mixture reach 300°F (hard crack stage) using a candy thermometer. Remove from heat.
Add Flavor And Color: Quickly stir in the vanilla extract and swirl in the gel food coloring, gently mixing to create a galaxy effect.
Dip The Apples: Dip each apple into the candy coating, twirling it as you lift to create a marbled effect.
Add Glitter: Sprinkle edible glitter over the apples while they are still warm.
Cool The Apples: Place the apples on the parchment paper and let them cool completely before serving.
Notes
Make sure to thoroughly wash the apples to remove any wax.
Experiment with different colors for unique galaxy effects.
