  • ½ cup canola oil or sunflower oil
  • 2 tablespoons tap water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces cream cheese baking chips or white chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces full-fat spreadable cream cheese, chilled
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 10 standard Oreo cookies, broken into pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, oil, water, and vanilla until emulsified.
  3. Sift flour, cocoa powder, salt, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar into the wet ingredients.
  4. Fold with a spatula until just combined forming a thick glossy batter.
  5. Stir in cream cheese chips gently.
  6. Pour batter evenly into the prepared pan and spread to edges. Set aside while preparing cheesecake layer.
  7. In a clean bowl, whisk spreadable cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  8. Incorporate the egg and vanilla, then mix in sour cream.
  9. Crush six Oreo cookies and fold into the batter with a spatula.
  10. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer and spread evenly.
  11. Crumble remaining Oreo cookies over the top.
  12. Bake in the center of the oven for 35 to 40 minutes until the cheesecake layer is set.
  13. Remove and cool completely before refrigerating for at least 4 hours to chill thoroughly.
  14. Slice into 16 brownies and serve chilled.
