Delightful Oreo Mochi combines the ethereal chewiness of mochi with the rich flavor of Oreos, creating a nostalgic treat that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sweet rice flour (mochi flour)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreos
  • Cornstarch for dusting
  • Oreo cream filling (from the cookies) or whipped cream for filling

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweet rice flour and sugar. Gradually add water and stir until the mixture forms a smooth consistency without lumps.
  2. Microwave the mixture for 1 minute. Carefully stir the dough and then microwave for an additional 1-2 minutes until the dough becomes slightly translucent and thickened.
  3. Sprinkle cornstarch generously onto a clean surface, then pour the hot mochi dough onto it. Be cautious, as it’ll be hot! Allow it to cool slightly until it’s just manageable.
  4. Once cool enough to handle, use a sharp knife to cut the mochi dough into small squares, roughly 2×2 inches.
  5. Place a tiny spoonful of Oreo cream filling in the center of each square. Carefully wrap the mochi around the filling, pinching the edges to seal it snugly.
  6. Roll each wrapped mochi in crushed Oreos, ensuring each bite bursts with extra flavor and texture.
  7. Serve immediately for a soft and chewy experience, or refrigerate for a firmer, more structured texture.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the mochi a day in advance and store them in an airtight container in the fridge. They taste just as delicious the next day!
