Delightful and colorful cookies that have a chewy texture and a classic crinkle finish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for coating
  • Food coloring (various pastel colors)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter and granulated sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until well blended.
  6. Divide the dough into equal portions and tint each with different food coloring.
  7. Roll the dough into balls and coat them in powdered sugar.
  8. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
  10. Cool on a wire rack before enjoying.

Notes

Chill the dough if it feels too soft to aid in rolling. Don’t rush the cooling process.
