Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
  • Food coloring (pink, blue, yellow, green)

Instructions

  1. Cream together the granulated sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  3. Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until well combined.
  5. Divide the dough into four equal parts and color each with different food coloring.
  6. Roll small balls of each color and combine them to form a multi-colored ball.
  7. Roll the dough balls in powdered sugar before placing them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Chill the dough balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough is chilling.
  10. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until slightly cracked on top.
  11. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chilling the dough helps the cookies hold their shape. Use room temperature ingredients for best results.
