A comforting and creamy white lasagna filled with rich ricotta, savory ground turkey, and fresh spinach, perfect for family gatherings.

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven: Set it to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles: Boil them according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the meat filling: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic, cook just until fragrant, then add in the ground turkey. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally. Add fresh spinach, stirring until it wilts, then set aside.
  4. Make the creamy sauce: In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook until golden brown, around 2-3 minutes. Slowly pour in the whole milk while whisking continuously, allowing it to thicken. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  5. Layering time: Grease your baking dish, start with a thin layer of the creamy sauce at the bottom, lay three lasagna noodles, followed by half of the turkey and spinach filling, and a layer of ricotta cheese. Repeat layers, finishing with noodles topped with remaining sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake the lasagna: Cover it with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden brown. Let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting.

Notes

Assemble the lasagna the day before to save time. Use an air fryer for small portions with adjusted cooking times.
