- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Vegetable oil for frying
- In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, and parsley until smooth.
- Roll mixture into 3-inch sticks and place on a tray lined with parchment. Freeze for 30–45 minutes.
- Set up flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs with paprika in three separate shallow bowls.
- Dip each stick in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb steps for a second coat.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry 3–4 sticks at a time until golden and crispy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauce.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can include other spices or herbs in the potato mixture.
- Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature to get a crispy texture.
- These can be served with a variety of dips like marinara or ranch.
