A delightful and elegant appetizer featuring creamy mozzarella wrapped in savory prosciutto, enhanced with fresh basil and a sweet drizzle of balsamic glaze.

  • 4 oz prosciutto (thinly sliced)
  • 8 oz low-moisture mozzarella cheese (cut into cubes)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheese by cutting it into ½-inch to ¾-inch cubes.
  2. Slice the prosciutto in half lengthwise for easier wrapping.
  3. Add a small basil leaf to each piece of mozzarella if desired.
  4. Wrap a strip of prosciutto around the mozzarella tightly.
  5. Sauté the bites in olive oil over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  6. Alternatively, bake at 400°F (200°C) on a parchment-lined sheet for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Plate the bites and drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

Notes

For best results, pat the mozzarella dry before wrapping. Customize with different cheeses or add-ins like sun-dried tomatoes.
