Rainbow Candied Grapes are fresh grapes dipped in a thin, colored sugar syrup until glossy and slightly crisp. This vibrant and fun treat is perfect for parties and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound grapes (red, green, and purple)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Lollipop sticks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the grapes thoroughly.
  2. Dry them well — moisture is the enemy here.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Heat over medium heat until the mixture boils and the sugar dissolves.
  4. Don’t rush this step. Stir often so the sugar dissolves evenly.
  5. Divide the sugar syrup into separate bowls for each color you want to use.
  6. Add food coloring to each bowl to create different colors.
  7. Dip each grape into the colored syrup and then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Allow the grapes to dry for about 15 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate them until the coating hardens.
  9. Serve the rainbow candied grapes on a platter or on lollipop sticks for easy snacking.

Notes

Chilling speeds the set-up. Be patient as the syrup thickens when cooled.
