Sausage Dipped Pancakes are a delicious breakfast twist that combines fluffy pancakes with savory sausage for a delightful meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 breakfast sausage links or patties
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Butter or oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausage links or patties in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Set aside and keep warm.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined; batter should be slightly lumpy. Do not overmix.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  6. Pour about 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the skillet. Quickly place a cooked sausage link or patty in the center of the batter.
  7. Using a spatula, gently fold the edges of the batter around the sausage, covering it completely. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Carefully flip and cook the other side until golden brown, about 2 more minutes.
  9. Repeat with remaining batter and sausages. Serve warm with syrup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a crispier texture, cook the sausages slightly longer before adding to the batter.
  • Feel free to experiment with different types of sausages for varied flavors.
