4 slices ciabatta bread
1 apple, thinly sliced
4 slices smoked Gouda cheese
1 teaspoon honey
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
Spread unsalted butter evenly on one side of each slice of ciabatta bread.
On the unbuttered side of two bread slices, layer smoked Gouda cheese and apple slices. Drizzle with honey. Top with remaining bread, buttered side out.
Heat a panini press or skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwiches until the bread is golden and crisp, and the cheese is fully melted, about 3–4 minutes per side.
Notes
For a sweeter flavor, consider using a sweeter apple variety, like Fuji or Honeycrisp.
