1 pound beef steak (such as sirloin or rump), finely chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon tomato paste
Salt and pepper to taste
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
Preheat the oven and prepare the baking sheet: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cook the filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion and garlic, add steak, flour, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste. Season and let cool slightly.
Assemble the steak bakes: Roll out puff pastry, cut into rectangles, spoon filling onto half, fold over, seal edges, brush with egg wash.
Bake: Place on baking sheet, bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed. Serve warm.
Notes
You can add shredded cheddar or crumbled blue cheese to the filling for extra flavor.
