  • 1 pound beef steak (such as sirloin or rump), finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the baking sheet: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion and garlic, add steak, flour, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste. Season and let cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the steak bakes: Roll out puff pastry, cut into rectangles, spoon filling onto half, fold over, seal edges, brush with egg wash.
  4. Bake: Place on baking sheet, bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed. Serve warm.
