  • 4 medium-sized sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut them into approximately 1-inch thick rounds.
  3. Place the sweet potato rounds in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Carefully drain the sweet potatoes and let them cool slightly.
  5. Transfer the sweet potato rounds to the prepared baking sheet. Use a fork or potato masher to gently smash each round to about ½-inch thickness.
  6. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the smashed sweet potatoes.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Sprinkle this seasoning blend over the sweet potatoes.
  8. Drizzle honey over the seasoned sweet potatoes.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes until the edges become crispy and golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
