- 16 frozen Italian meatballs
- 4 hot dog buns
- 3 oz pepperoni slices
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon chopped parsley
- Preheat air fryer to 400F.
- Drop the frozen meatballs into the air fryer basket.
- Air fry the meatballs at 400F for 10 minutes.
- Line the hot dog buns with pepperoni slices.
- Spoon about half of the pizza sauce over the pepperoni and then top with about half of the shredded mozzarella.
- Place 4 cooked meatballs in each hot dog bun and then place the subs in the air fryer basket.
- Combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley in a small bowl and mix well.
- Brush the garlic butter over the buns in the air fryer basket.
- Spoon the remaining pizza sauce over the meatballs.
- Top with the remaining shredded cheese and some pepperoni slices.
- Air fry at 400F for 4 minutes to melt the cheese and toast the buns.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños.
- Use whole wheat buns for a healthier option.
