Deliciously cozy apple butter cinnamon rolls that are perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk (warmed)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 23 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size—about 60 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the apple butter over it. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix powdered sugar with enough milk to achieve desired glaze consistency, then drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
