Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 onion diced – small
2 cloves garlic minced
30 ounces baked beans (TWO 15-ounce cans)
¼ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon mustard
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet over medium heat, until the beef is browned and the onions are tender. Drain any excess fat.
Combine the cooked ground beef mixture, baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix well to combine.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading into an even layer.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the beans are bubbling and the top is slightly caramelized.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding some chopped bell peppers or a dash of hot sauce.
Can be served as a main dish or as a side with cornbread.
