Delicious and moist Banana Bread Brownies that combine the rich texture of brownies with the sweet flavor of ripe bananas, topped with creamy vanilla frosting.

  • 1 cup ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking dish by greasing it lightly.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients: mash the bananas, then add sour cream, sugars, and melted butter. Stir until combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl: whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool the brownies before spreading with vanilla frosting.

For best texture, ensure ingredients are at room temperature. These brownies can also be served warm with ice cream.
