A comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender beef, fluffy rice, and zesty tomato salsa, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound boneless sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, minced

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water and drain.
  2. Combine the rice, chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic powder in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover for about 20 minutes.
  3. Cook the sliced steak in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Add teriyaki sauce, honey, and grated ginger to the skillet, stirring until well coated.
  5. Toss diced tomatoes, red onion, and minced jalapeño in a bowl to make the salsa.
  6. Serve the rice topped with the beef and a generous spoonful of tomato salsa.

Notes

Don’t skip rinsing the rice for fluffy results. Feel free to customize the ingredients to your liking.
