  • 1/2 teaspoon black gel food coloring

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon extract (optional)
  • Candy apple sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Wash and dry the apples. Remove wax by dipping in boiling water briefly, then dry thoroughly.
  2. Insert Sticks: Insert candy apple sticks into the apples.
  3. Make Candy Mixture: Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan. Boil until it reaches 300ยฐF.
  4. Add Color and Flavor: Remove from heat and stir in black and purple gel food coloring, vanilla extract, and cinnamon extract.
  5. Dip Apples: Dip apples in the candy mixture, swirling to coat evenly. Place on parchment-lined sheet to set.
  6. Allow to Set: Let the candy coating harden at room temperature before serving.
