A quick and comforting dinner featuring juicy steak, tender shrimp, and melty cheese on a bed of fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak, cubed
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. You want it nice and hot, but not smoking.
  2. Add diced onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent. This should take about 3 minutes. Stir often so it doesn’t stick.
  3. Add the cubed steak and cook until browned on all sides. You might need an extra minute depending on your stove.
  4. Add the shrimp, cooking until pink and cooked through. It happens quickly!
  5. Stir in the cooked rice and mix well. This is where everything comes together!
  6. Top with shredded cheese, allowing it to melt. Don’t rush this step; let it get gooey.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Taste as you go!
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the skillet. Let your steak rest before cutting. Keep stirring to avoid thickening.
