Soft and tender Chewy Snickerdoodles coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for cozy evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar (for rolling)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Mix in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together 2 tbsp sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough into balls, then coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for best results. Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh and chewy.
